Frequently Asked Questions
Do I have to be Estonian to become a member?
No. Membership is open to everyone, and many of our members are not of Estonian heritage. We welcome anyone who is interested in our community, culture, and events.
How do I become a member?
Simply complete a membership application through our website by clicking on “Apply Now” on your chosen membership tier card. Applications are reviewed by our membership committee, and applicants will be notified once a decision has been made. Upon approval, membership benefits become active according to the selected membership type.
Is there a difference in benefits between membership tiers?
Core benefits are the same across all tiers. The primary differences are eligibility requirements, dues, and voting rights – Individual, Family and Senior members hold full voting rights, while Associate and Student members do not.
Can I purchase a one-day membership?
No. We offer annual memberships only, which are valid from January 1 through December 31 of each calendar year.
How many guests may I bring as a member?
Members may bring up to five guests when visiting the Estonian House. Members are responsible for ensuring their guests are aware of and follow all house rules and policies during their visit.
Why should I become a member?
Membership helps support and preserve the Estonian House and its mission of promoting Estonian culture, community, and heritage. Members enjoy access to member-only benefits, discounted event tickets when available, eligibility to rent venue spaces, and the opportunity to actively participate in the life of our community.
Do memberships renew automatically?
Memberships are billed annually. Your membership will renew each year automatically unless canceled through your member account before the renewal date.
