ABOUT
New York Mixed Choir
The New York Estonian Mixed Choir was established in 2013 through the merger of the New York Estonian Men’s Chorus and the New York Estonian Women’s Chorus. That same year, the newly formed choir joined fellow East Coast Estonian choirs for a collaborative song camp in preparation for Estonia’s 2014 National Song Festival (Laulupidu) in Tallinn.
Since its founding, the choir has performed at a variety of venues throughout the region, ranging from New York’s renowned Alice Tully Hall to the New York Estonian House, Estonian Lutheran churches in New York and New Jersey, and Estonian community events on Long Island and in Lakewood, New Jersey.

Estonia’s Singing Tradition
Choral singing has long been at the heart of Estonian culture. The Estonian Song Festival (Laulupidu), first held in 1869, remains one of the world’s largest amateur choral events and a powerful symbol of national identity. The New York Estonian Mixed Choir proudly carries this tradition forward abroad.
